Tilbury, Thurrock
Regeneration of a previously derelict area on the fringes of London through a new residential neighbourhood of 128 homes.
The strength of the project is in its masterplan, rather than the individual details of each house. A number of street types were chosen to help establish a variety of street identities. A restrained palette of materials and judicious selection of house types allowed a constrained budget to create a distinct neighbourhood, and a sense of place.
This was the first site to be developed by the Council itself to provide homes for the local community and was an award-winning development. This project was completed by Lyn as project architect from Stage A - L whilst she was an Associate at Bell Phillips Architects.
Awards: Winner, RIBA East Awards 2018 / Shortlisted, Housing Design Awards 2018 / Winner, Housing Design Awards 2015, HAPPI Winner

An office fit-out within a Grade II listed London warehouse which plays on the use of a single material throughout the project.
Birch faced plywood forms all separate elements of each space, from the walls for the meeting room, to the shelving subdividing the open plan, to the kitchen fit-out. Lyn oversaw this project from inception to completion whilst she was an Associate at Bell Phillips Architects.

Southwark Park, London
A pavilion providing a new café and toilets for Southwark Park.
The form for the pavilion was derived from the physical constraints and location of the site – a triangulation between the lake, pathway and field. This project is a Bell Phillips Architects scheme, with Lyn overseeing the competition win and up to Stage 3.

London
A new-build house, calibrated specifically for a writer and his family.
Every element of this house was holistically considered, from the external form to the interiors, in dialogue with and in response to the client’s brief. An essay in materiality, pared back simplicity, and elegance. This project is a James Gorst Architects scheme and was completed while Lyn was an architectural assistant with the practice. Lyn was involved from inception to completion of the project.

A Victorian-era London flat has been given a new lease of life.
Through a series of simple moves, a selection of pared-back materials and some clever storage solutions, the once-tired interior of this flat has been revitalised.
A substantial house extension in Wiltshire to an 18th century cottage set within mature gardens. Replacing a higgledy-pigggledy set of existing extensions built at separate times with a rationalised, clean and simple sequence of spaces and forms. The re-configuration and enlargement of the spaces will allow the owners to continue enjoying their house when they enter into retirement.
